SSDC Sunday June 1

Swing through the Seattle Swing Dance Club (SSDC) for West Coast Swing (WCS) workshops, free beginner lesson, Westie social dancing, and fun competitions!

• Three WCS workshops with Denver All-Star Elizabeth Spann

• FREE one-hour newcomer Modern Swing class: invite your friends & family to start or learn the opposite role if you know WCS basics

• Three-plus hours of social dancing and competition music with DJ Sunshine (Lia Brown)

• Two separate levels of competitions: Novice and Advanced Jack & Jill

2:30 pm Register, warm up, and volunteer to set up

3:00 pm *Advanced/All-Star WCS Workshop with Lizzy: TBA

(*Must qualify to participate in this leveled workshop with World Swing Dance Council Advanced/All Star points registry)

All levels can still take this class! In our Advanced/All-Star offerings, auditors are expected to:


1. Pay the fees as normal.

2. Observe quietly without participating.

3. Refrain from asking questions or disrupting the class.

4. Take notes silently and respect the learning environment.

5:30 pm FREE 1 Hour Beginner Lesson (upstairs)

6:00 pm Social dance starts with DJ Sunshine

6:30 pm Competitions registration ends

7:30 pm Competitions start, finals with DJ Sunshine, and awards

9:30 pm Social dance ends later to make up for competitions & volunteer to clean up

The SSDC is committed to the growth of West Coast Swing in our community. This includes providing an opportunity to get experience competing if this is a part of your dance journey. We are committed to providing a safe and fun place to dip your toes in the competition waters, or continue to experiment as you gain experience.
