This ain’t your typical competitors’ workshop!
❌We will NOT be talking about what judges are looking for.
❌We will NOT be talking about how to lead a pattern better.
❌We will NOT be hammering you on phrase changes.
👁🗨Competing in any division takes focus. It’s so common for all your focus to go out the window as soon as you rotate to your first J&J partner. All that technique you’ve been practicing? Poof, gone, and you resort to your lowest common denominator of default skills.
✔️So in this one-of-a-kind Competitors’ Intensive, we will teach you ways to control the skills you already have (or fill in your knowledge gaps) and use them under pressure. We will use team-based challenges designed to intentionally disturb your focus, challenge your memory, and desensitize you to distractions. By the end you should be way more confident rotating to any partner, any song, any circumstances, and still be able to feel expressed and on your game.

5:00-6:00 Competition Registration
6:30 Newcomer/Novice Prelims
7:00 Intermediate+ Prelims
Semis and Finals will be at the discretion of the Chief Judge
Newcomer/Novice will be run as a strict Jack and Jill following the standard formats. Prelims, Semis, if needed, and finals. There will be rotations in preliminary rounds where follows and leads are judged and advance individually – random draw for finals partner – where they are judged as a couple. Anyone with less than 16 WSDC Novice points will compete in this division.
Intermediate/Advanced/All-Star will be judged All-American style – couples advance together and are then re-sorted in each round. All competitors with 16 Novice WSDC points or any higher level points will compete in this division.
Anyone wishing to petition up or down must do so in writing to the Chief Judge prior to 6 pm on February 2nd, 2019
Contests are non-gendered.

1st Place in each division will win Easter Swing 2019 Weekend Passes and one night’s stay at the Hyatt Regency Bellevue
