Volunteer
The Seattle Swing Dance Club (SSDC) was founded in 1965 as a nonprofit organization whose purpose is to preserve, perfect, progress, and promote the enjoyment of West Coast Swing. SSDC relies on volunteers for all its events in the Seattle dance community - all the board members are also volunteers! With volunteers every year, we are proud to host 50+ hours of workshops and 75+ hours of social dancing! Plus, we host the annual dance convention Easter Swing on all volunteers too - join us here!
Volunteer Opportunities
We appreciate each and every act of volunteer work and below are some ways to be involved:
Volunteer at our events - one hour of Set Up, Front Desk, or Clean Up earns free dance admission
Become a Member - If you’d like to help but don’t have enough time to volunteer with us, consider becoming a member! Your membership helps support SSDC’s mission financially.
Join the SSDC Board - Our committees include, but not limited to, Marketing (Social Media), Competitions, and Outreach
Do you have another idea how you can help? Please contact us to volunteer!
Employer Volunteer Grant Programs
What are volunteer grants?
Volunteer grant programs, also known as “Dollars for Doers” programs, are corporate giving programs created to encourage volunteerism in communities where employees live, work, and dance! Through these programs, companies provide monetary grants to organizations where employees volunteer regularly like Seattle Swing Dance Club.
Why are volunteer grants important?
Every dollar counts and volunteer grants are directly supporting organizations such as SSDC. Since we are 100% made up of volunteers, it’s likely that there are volunteer grant opportunities going to waste. Submission takes no more than five minutes.
How does it work for SSDC?
Corporate volunteer grant programs convert supporter time and effort into tangible funds. As a 501c(3), SSDC is eligible to directly benefit from corporate giving when employees donate or volunteer. If you work for the following employers and volunteer with us, you are directly supporting in two ways: volunteer your time and effort and support The Club financially!
