SSDC CARES: Donate at The Club 12/2 & 12/16 to help out homeless youth! All donors will be entered into a raffle for a $25 Barnes and Noble gift card, to be drawn at the 12/16 Holiday Dance (need not be present to win).

Due to the generosity last year and such wonderful support from our members, SSDC will be conducting a Sleeping Bag Drive again this year to support homeless youth during the holiday season. Donations will be collected at the Alki Masonic Lodge #152 during the December 2nd dance and the December 16th Holiday Dance. We will be distributing the sleeping bags through Teen Feed basic needs drive. Teen Feed works to offer basic needs items and daily essential to help homeless youth in the Seattle area, and distributes basic needs items to youth at nightly meal programs, during street outreach, and in their offices. We will be delivering the sleeping bags to one of the nightly meal programs during the week of Christmas.

Please note that smaller, portable sleeping bags housed in their individual bags are typically preferred. Unfortunately, most carry their homes on their backs making larger bags less suitable. Wool blankets, headlamps, wet weather gear, wool socks, and large size men’s boots are also great items to donate, given the wet cold winter ahead of us. We will deliver all such donations along with the sleeping bags.
